Absolutely amazing. I read it in 48 hours (after the kids went to bed each night). It's fast paced, gut wrenching and well written.

I have read all of Lisa Scottoline's books and I thought this was her best one yet even though the story itself was a departure from her usual line of work. The Ellen and Will characters were so believeable that I ached when her heart was breaking. I highly recommend this book.

A very good book. Takes you on a roller coaster ride. The book was a hard one to put down and was one I read in a few days. The ending was not as I expected either...that's always a plus. I love it when a book has you in it's grips and surprises you in the end! Definitely recommend!

Wow! I read this book in less than 24 hours, it was hard to put down. The suspense was great, the story well-written, the characters well-developed. All in all a great book!

A departure from Ms. Scottoline's normal courtroom drama and female attorneys, it is a wonderful book. I liked the central character, Ellen Gleeson, who is a "features" reporter at a major newspaper in Philadelphia. She is single with an adopted child, Will, who is the center of her life. When going through her mail one day, she sees "have your seen this child" card with a photo of a boy that looks exactly like her boy. Although her adoption is legal and done through an attorney, there is nothing much about the birth mother or father and, in fact, it is sealed. However, Ellen can't let it go and starts her own investigation hoping that her boy is not the boy kidnapped 2 years ago. The investigation takes her to poor neighborhoods in Philly and posh ones in Miami, Florida. Events too coincidental fill her with fear for her life and that of Will's. Powerfully paced book and in-depth character description makes this departure from her usual novels well worth the reading! After about half-way through the book, I couldn't put it down.

This book kept your interest all the way to the last pages. It was a believable story.
Seeing her adopted baby's picture on a missing child flyer, she hopes it is only a coincidence but has to know the truth.
It leads to danger as she wants to know who is the real birth parents.

The book's very short chapters make for an easy/quick read. I thought the premise of the novel was intriguing and was immediately sucked in to the drama.

I rarely read books from cover to cover in one sitting but did so with this one.

This is the first book I have read by Lisa Scottoline and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more of her work.

Very fast paced and I couldn't put it down! Tears at your heartstrings (especially as a mother.) I did figure out one of the plot twists, but was surprised at the other one. Very enjoyable book. Being from the SJ/Philly area, I enjoyed reading a book that takes place in Philly and by an author who works in Philly.

This was the first book by this author I've read. . I loved the short
chapters and kept saying to myself ' Just one more. . ' I couldn't put it down and went on the emotional rollarcoaster with Ellen on the mystery that surrounded her son. Did not expect the twists and turns the story took and held my breath until the end. Will definately read more of her books. Wow :-)

Good story, but pretty predictable. The main idea was a very real part of the story. The romantic part was rather weak. It seemed to be just thrown in. It was worth reading.

This book was amazing! I didn't want to put it down. I can't imagine getting a postcard with a missing child on it and seeing my own child's picture. Brilliantly written!
