I've gone through just about everything by Karen Kingsbury, and I'm looking for an author similar to her.  My mother has been giving me a good deal of Christian romances, but I'm looking for books that have less of an emphasis on a romantic storyline.

I'd love some suggestions!

Thanks!!

Have you read Francine Rivers?  She's my favorite Christian author.

You might try Lynn Austin or Robin Lee Hatcher.  I find both of them to be very similar to Karen Kingsbury.

I agree with all those already mentioned and have to add these Christian writers:

Roxanne Henke's   " COMING HOME TO BREWSTER" series

Penelope J. Stokes  (especially THE BLUE BOTTLE CLUB,    THE WISHING JAR,     THE AMBER PHOTOGRAPH, and THE AMETHYST HEART. ( She also writes nonfiction.)

And if you like some mystery... Brandilyn Collins has several good series with original interesting storylines.

I recently read two books by Leisha Kelly, Julia's Hope and Emma's Gift. I really enjoyed them and have wish listed several more of her books.

Brock and/or Bodie Thoene are really good... sometimes Bodie writes on her own, sometimes with Brock - they have several series.

you might try the times and seasons series by terri blackstock and beverly lahaye.  they are a really good series of four books about four women going through different seasons of their lives.  they all live in the same neighborhood in a cul-de-sac.  good christian drama like kingsbury with good insight and devotional thoughts for christians.  tear jerkers as well like kingsbury.

The " Grace Chapel Inn Series" is absolutely wonderful !  It it written by a few different authors but ties in together perfectly.

The "Mitford Years" series is a must !  Written by Jan Karon . These books are fantastic and have so many different interesting elements without sex, blood,or violence. Every book has love, humor, family, a very aggrivating church secretary, problems, and a really big dog named Barnabus that can only be calmed down by hearing any ole' scripture verse at all; the only catch being that it has to be recited in a really loud voice !!! And  a georgous white cat that lives next door named "Violet". I cant leave out "Dooley", a red headed boy with a use of the English language that will have you laughing out loud. This is only one or two charaters that will have you laughing, crying, and eager to read the entire series.

Authors:

  Walt Larimore (Bryson City Series)

Charles Martin : (Catching Fireflies) is one of his titles

Well, it's not like Karen Kingsbury but have you read the YADA YADA Prayer Group books by Neta JAckson? I just read the first one a few weeks ago and really enjoyed. Not a focus on romance but just an overall good book.
