I"d really like to get my kids their own Bibles for Christmas, but can't afford to buy them brand new. Does anyone have any New International Version ( NIV ) student type Bibles on their shelf? I have a 9 yo girl and 11 yo boy. I saw a really neat Bible I'd LOVE to give my son if anyone has it; it's called the NIV Boy's Bible. Some other ideas are: The Adventure Bible, Devotional Bible for Boy/Girls, Student Bible, Bible for Girls etc. Basically a Bible that has little devotions and/or tidbits of information about different things, not just a plain Bible. Thanks so much!

I don't have any to post, but I was just at an outlet mall today and the Christian Publishing Outlet had a LOT of kids' bibles under $5. If you have a book outlet nearby, perhaps that is a solution? Or ask around your church? My DS is 9 and LOVES the NIV Adventure Bible. He's had it since age 5. JC |

Thanks JC! I don't have a Christian Outlet here that I know of, but I'll keep looking since I'm new to this area. I've heard good things about the Adventure Bibles. |

I have a bunch of Bibles. However, the kind of Bibles you are looking for is not one of them. I have 3 NIV versions and 2 Revised Standard Version. The NIV do not appear to have pictures, one of the NIV is called the one year Bible. It is set up to read it in a year. Perhaps until you can get exactly what you are looking for, you might get one of the NIV's and one of the Revised Standard version and that way, they could compare the two and look at the pictures in the one. If you want to wait and hold out for the ones you are looking for, the next time I go to goodwill, I can check and see if they have any. Most of them are only about a dollar, so, I wouldn't mind getting them if they have them. But, those are so specific, that I am not sure if they would have something that unique. I am not sure when I will be going into town next, but, perhaps in the next week. If you are interested in the two I mentioned, let me know how you would like to work it out. Thanks, Sandra |
