Hi All,

Last year, I helped my college alma mater start a LGBTQ group on campus.  They had a few sucessful bake sales and such to help with start-up costs. They have about a dozen or so members (out of a pop. of 1,500) and hope to gain more with the large incoming freshman class.  The group sucessfully petitioned the college president to change the college bylaws to include sexual orientation as an anti-discrimintation factor.  They proudly walked through the little down-town hickville the school is located in for the homecoming parade while rednecks shouted profanity and bible quotes at them. They are slowing gaining college support and recognition...

Yet they lack the resources to do much more.  The college library is small and lacking LGBTQ books.  I am hoping anyone here can help.  This semester, I want to donate helpful books to the group such as nonfiction, same-sex marriage, coming-out stories, advice, etc,  and fiction books the students can relate to.  Any book that is supportive and could assist them would be appreciated.

I would love any donations you would like to send, but I have a few credits for 2 for 1 deals or anything like that.  I have a few more credits coming to me, so anything is appreciated.  Thank you!

(and I don't know how i managed to post this the first time without a subject.)

I have a book I was going to post on my freebie page, as it's a bit worn. (Not horribly. I just received it through PBS last month, and thought it was just on the edge of retirement.) It was really interesting, and has about 16 pages of historical photos, too. Odd Girls and Twillight Lovers: A History of Lesbian Life in the 20th Century Lillian Faderman

That sounds great!  At this point, I'm trying to build their library so anything is welcome!!!  I'll PM you with my address.  I've got a box started...

As an update, here is what I've got so far:

The Laramie Project

The Stranger Next Door  Arlene Stein  ISBN 0807079537

Same-Sex Marriage and the Constitution Evan Gerstmann ISBN 0521009529

Women on Women 3: A New Anthology of American Lesbian Fiction  ISBN 0452276616

The Church and Homosexuality ISBN 0807079316  (I thought this would be great since the college is run by the Methodist Church)

Thank you to all those who have given me deals and donations!!!  Keep um' coming!!  Please PM me if you need my address or if you wish to send them directly to the school.
