My son is just into getting into chapter books so I was looking for suggestions on series that are good for kids that are under 3rd grade.  He is in first grade.

Take a listen to this episode of the Currently Reading podcast for some book suggestions.

The hosts of this podcast interview their sons, age 7, on their favorite books and series. You can skip the first 14 minutes or so to get to their interview.

I purchased the first four books in the Ricky Ricotta series by Dav Pilkey for my grandson, who isn't reading, yet, but will be very soon! He celebrates his 6th birthday next month.

Happy reading!

My son loved the A to Z Mysteries Series by Ron Roy in first grade.
