Now on "vacation", Kate is free to accompany her mother and some of her mother's former acting companions as well as her best friend, Sandy, to a huge Victorian hotel in the Adirondacks. There, her mother's group plans to work together again in a play, just for old time's sake.
The Manor at Deeping Lake is a gorgeous relic of a bygone era, set on acres of picture-perfect grounds. The scenery isn't all that captures Kate's interest, though. The very first day, exploring the theater, she meets a young man who plays a perfect Hamlet to her Ophelia...but refuses to tell her his real name.
Kate soon hears eerie tales of a ghost who haunts the hotel, wandering through corridors, floating over the lake. When she sees the ghost, Kate is startled: She and the vision look exactly alike, and the ghost is costumed as Ophelia! Kate learns that the ghost was a young actress and the grandmother of her very own Hamlet, Craig. Together, she and Craig set out to piece together the ghost's strange history and solve the mystery of her suspicious drowning.« less
