Does anyone have this book?  I read Passion and I'm dying to read Patience.  Can't find it in any bookstores and I have it on my WL.

It hasn't been released yet.  The author missed deadline several times and now the publisher has to find room for it on their print schedule.  I think the last I heard they were talking maybe December.

She got a lot of mixed reviews with Passion-received emails that upset her- so got cold feet, and started re-writing Patience.

I hope re-writing does not ruin it......

Sheila -

Do you know what folks were upset with in Passion?

Her own website still says May 2007, so it still must be up in the air.

Katrina said "Do you know what folks were upset with in Passion?"

Evidently some people objected to the sex scenes and unloaded on her in emails and letters. She took all the criticism to heart.

The book will be very popular as so many people are waiting for it.

I am not a prude or anything and I love me some steamy romances, the book first shocked me but I quickly got over it and I totally loved the book. But reading it on a crowded train I had to make sure no one was trying to read it over my shoulder, boy would they be surprised if anyone did!!

I'll admit they were a little shocking at first, mostly because they involved 2 strangers meeting and having sex repeatedly in public, but I soon got over my shock.  Very very steamy.  Nearly wore out the vibe.

Just tried emailing her.  I'll post if she responds.  Called Bekley and they say they have no date, but won't give a reason.  She's not even listed as one of their authors on their site so I wonder if there's some sort of contract or legal dispute?  Anybody have a clue?

I've recently seen a May 2008 pub date on a couple of book websites, so perhaps it's been pushed back to mid-2008.  The author's email just sends an auto-reply back that says she's locked in her tower "writing"

half.com has it available for pre-order with a 5/2008 pub date.  I pre-ordered a copy.

Oh dear. I hadn't heard that rumor - that she got cold feet - and I sure hope it isn't true. When authors start writing to please their critics instead of their own visions, books tend to go BAAAAD.

IMHO the publishers are to blame about the bad feedback that she received. If the book had been marketed as something other than just a historical (which most times are much tamer in the steamy scene area lol), the readers would have been prepared for the "steam" content.

Edited to add that I haven't kept up with the buzz on what the readers didn't like about the book but this is what I am assuming.

Any word on the pub date?  Last I heard was May 08.  I agree--that first book should have come with a warning about the steam level (which is part of why I liked it).

There's supposed to be word coming on her website, hadn't arrived yet the last I'd heard.

I didn't think the book had anything to turn green over.  In fact, I'm not even an erotica fan and I read it clear through.  What's the big deal?  If you don't like it, don't buy it.  Why would she have to rewrite?  You can't please everyone.

I suspect it might be delayed yet again.  I've read May 08 pub dates, but it's not available anywhere.  Her site says she'll provide on update on April 30.  Sure hope the woman doesn't dash our hopes again!  Arghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
