I am wondering if any one knows if there are any homosexual romance novels that are not erotica. I read historicals mostly. I am a little burned out on traditional stories and I am looking for something a little different. I do not mean to offend anyone and I appologize if I have. Purrs......Becky |

Most of the LGBT romance novels that I've read are pretty cheesey...good but cheesey like most romance novels are. Jennifer Fulton, Gerri Hill...Greg Herron has a few that are fun... Lauren Maddison is mystery/romance..her books are sort of fun. Historical though...hmmm I haven't come across any, maybe you just found your niche...write one! : ) |

If you are willing to stretch things a bit, you might like Laurie King's The Art Of Detection. It is a mystery with a historical thread. One of the cops is a Lesbian, and her home life is discussed. The historical part includes gay men. That's about all I can say without giving away the plot. Its very well written, and I really enjoyed it. Purrs back........Anne J |

Ooooh, thanks for that recommendation. I've read some of Laurie King but not that one. I'll put it on my list.

Solitaire and Brahms by Sarah Dreher is a classic lesbian romance novel that I really enjoyed. |

Fingersmith by Sarah Waters is a wonderful book. Not romance, per se, more historical fiction with a lesbian storyline as a major plot point. |

Second Sight is very definitely something different. It is about a lesbian super hero (on the order of superman/batman etc). It is currently on my shelf.
