Louis L'Amour's first novel, a 1953 novelization of the 1952 movie screenplay, based upon his earlier (1949) short story "A Gift of Cochise". A basic love story, set in the Chiracahua Mountains of SE Arizona, about 1875. This is a 30th anniversary edition, including a map of the setting, an intro by the author, and about 14 pages of preview of his next novel-to-be-published, "The Lonesome Gods". This edition has the same cover but an different ISBN. Published in 1983. Strong characterizations, strong conflict.
