Be prepared to lose a lot of sleep over this book. From the minute you open the first page where you are dropped in the middle of a dash through the frozen Russian landscape until the twists and turns of the final chapter you will be dragged along, breathless, as Selkirk and Gorlov take you on a wild ride of murder, mayhem, betrayal, treachery, jealousy, decadence, plucky women, brutality and riotous swashbuckling action.
