I just got the sweetest e-mail back from Eloisa James, in reply to comments I sent about her book "Desperate Duchesses".  I am always so impressed when authors take time out of their schedules to respond personally to e-mails, or to join in discussion groups.  I have had contacts from Cheryl Holt, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Carolyn Jewel, Diana Palmer, Linnea Sinclair (she's even posted to this group before!) and many others that I cannot recall now.

Has anyone else heard back from their favorite authors?

I used to be a Diana palmer 'nut', but I dunno..i always felt like she play stuff to close to her chest..Even in those Chats at Writerspace she really never says anything that you feel you didn't already know...

ANd her choices of heroes lately just completely disillusioned me ...:(

Bertrice Small interacts on her forums as well as answer emails and snail mail.

I even got to interview her for a report I did.

SEP (Susan Elizabeth Phillips-my favorite!) has a message board on her website where she often posts. I always get excited when she responds to something I've said.

I've only emailed authors twice (their books were just so good I had to go to the effort).  They both replied and emailed me again later with more information and comments.  Oh, they were Carla Kelly and Lisa Marie Rice.

I've heard back from Carly Phillips, Julie Garwood, an a couple of others through email. I have a few on my friends list at MySpace...I've heard back from Catherine Mann through there and she's really nice. Most of them are!

I e-mailed Patrica Grasso and she wrote a very nice e-mail.  I love when you meet them and they remember you......really remember you.  I had some that when they see me again call me by name!! How I don't know, they meet soooo many fans.

Nora Roberts responds to questions on ADWOFF (message board).  Katie MacAlister is wonderful, I received a really nice email in response to an email I sent her.  She is also active on her message boards and she does chats.   Also got a nice email from Elizabeth Hoyt when I requested the bookmarks she has on her website.

I've heard back from Debra Webb (emailed her about her Next title that was really good), d'allesandro? not sure of the spelling about a harlequin duet title I wanted to know if there was a sequel to it.  Seems like I also emailed someone else and heard back but can't think who it was right now!

The only one I've written to is Lincoln Child of the Preston/Child books (not romance!)

They post thier most scathing reviews on thier website, so I sent one I spotted on Amazon, and got a nice note back from Linc.

Gennita Low is quite active on her yahoo group posts.  Sherrilyn Kenyon has her messageboard and interacts a lot with the fans (and does Conventions...she's organizing her first one at the end of October!).

Cheryl Holt answers her emails and she is a complete sweetheart!

I emailed her a few times but one of the them was about a minor character in one of her
books that I just had to ask her if he would be a main character ever.

She wrote back that she wanted to, but at that time her publisher wanted her to go in a
different direction.

Guess what, her newest book is about that character I loved and the book was great!

Great author, nice nice lady.

Wow, I've never even thought about emailing an author.  Guess I figured they wouldn't really be answering their own emails and stuff.

Of course, it's really only since I found PBS that I've found an outlet to actually talk about the books I read with other people that've actually read them.
