Hi guys! first time posting in this forum, My question is this i have a family memeber that I have to cook for that has problems with blood pressure, and i need receipes that i can throw in the crockpot, because i have to also cook for my family of three. Plus work. Also i would like receipes that my family member who has problems with blood pressure that can eat on for a day or so , so maybe i can lower my having to cook to about three times a week.

I would suggest spagetti sauce, chili, soup and stews, which you can make using low-or no-salt canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, and/or broths. For canned beans, if you rinse them in a strainer, you can eliminate a lot of sodium (or you can cook your own from dried). You can just follow traditional recipes and use the low/no salt ingredients instead of regular. I would up the seasonings though, to increase flavor- use fresh garlic, onions and herbs, or one of the no-salt seasoning mixes from the grocery store. |
