Luana K. Ross is a Native American sociologist of the Flathead Nation. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Montana in 1979 , and her doctorate from the University of Oregon in 1992. Since 1999 she has been a faculty member for the University of Washington's department of Women Studies. Ross is also the author of Inventing the Savage: The Social Construction of American Criminality, published in 1998.

In January 2010, she was appointed to be the next president of Salish Kootenai College, effective in July of that year.
