I grew up watching Family Ties, so this was an interesting "behind the scenes" look at a celebrity that I felt like I knew. This book doesn't disappoint, as he is just a regular guy and a likeable one at that. His struggle to cope with his Parkinson's disease shares the same issues as anyone who's ever had to deal with a serious obstacle in his or her life, and he confronted this in no more a heroic fashion than anybody else. Perhaps the best compliment to the author is that this is just a regular guy story--- someone who loves his wife, adores his kids, and managed to have a good life despite having a debilitating disease. If you're looking for insider gossip (well, there's a little bit of that) or a bachelor "tell all", this isn't it. It is an enjoyable read.

Well written bio. It made me understand what he went through without making me feel sorry for him. I did think it went on a little longer than necessary.

Michael J. Fox recounts all of his life within this book. However, since 1998, he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. However, as the title suggests, even with this disease, he considers himself a "Lucky Man"!

This bio was so great I was a little reluctant because some times Famous celeb bios can be long and boring but I just couldn't put the book down. It starts with before he was born, takes us into his life as a an actor in film and tv, the struggles of doing two shows and the hardships of show business (one day your hot next your not and your a struggling actor trying to feed yourself...)To when he got his illness and how it affected his whole life, his work and especially family life...I was particularly moved when he talks about his son and teaching him how to cope as he was Michael J Fox coping with his illnes and at one point his son grabs his dads hand and squeezes then counts to keep his dads hand from shaking...Very touching, so much to learn about one person I grew up watching him, adored him then and now even more and he still cute as ever...It's a good read and even if you are not into the actor himself you learn so much about (Park.)his illness don't know how to spell it and don't have the book handy sorry...

Michael J. Fox is very honest about his feelings on his acting career, family and dealing with having Parkinson's. Easy quick read and I enjoyed getting to know Mr Fox on how he is behind the camera.

I was somewhat disappointed in this book since it was basically a count of all the things he had done wrong in his life.

Well done autobiography. Not as much about his Parkinson's treatment as I had expected but certainly a lot on how he has coped and dealt with it.
