I thoroughly enjoyed "Lulu Meets God and Doubts Him." The story revolves around a painter's sudden death and the mania that ensues following it. I work within the art world, and the first chapter could have been written about my experience going to any number of auctions over the last few years. Ganek writes from an insider's perspective and pegs the characters very close to real "characters" within the art world itself. If you are looking for a satirical but also funny book about the art world, this is it.

Interesting tale of how a painting affects the lives of those who come in contact with it. Well paced - a good read.

I polished off this engaging novel in less than a week. It was absorbing to follow a painting through the lives of many art collectors and to see how it affected each of them. The description of the art world and its inhabitants is spot-on (written from an "insider's" view). Making the story line contain a hauntingly beautiful painting, as well as the living human object of that painting, was brilliant! The author maintains suspense and twists until the very end; no "boring" spots to mget bogged down in! This novel has spiritual elements as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

tried to read this book after someone else gave it to me. I could not get into it at all. Had no desire to get to know the charactors or care what they did. Boring.
