this was an interesting book. I love watching Sandra Lee's show and seeing her now you would never imagine the kind of life she has had. She looks and appears to be your average girl next door. She has a bubbly personality, looks and smarts. She seems to have grown up in a family you would envy. However the truth is anything but that. She has been shuffled all over from her dearly loved Grandma, to an aunt and uncle and even her biological father and then former stepfather. She raises her multiple siblings and missed out on all the joys of childhood. She has had to work very hard to get where she is and had no real family support, neither financially or morally. I cannot imagine starting your own business and becoming as successful as she has! Great book.

Must read for any Semi-Homemade fan. She describes her life in detail, everything from abuse by parents, to being a millionaire at age 25, only to lose it all less than 5 years later. Her rise to stardom is an inspirational one, with a message for everyone.

Inspiring and encouraging book about overcome difficulties that one has no control over (childhood) and our own mistakes we make along the way.
