Is there a way I can use printable postage to mail out a book from a swap/game? I have the person's name and address but since it is going out from a swap, I don't have a request for the book from which to print a label. I thought I read something about being able to do this once but dang if I can find it in the help center docs. I sure don't want to go to the PO at this time of year if I don't have to! TIA for your help! |

You can click on "mail to a friend." The button is located to the right of the screen under your bookshelf, beside each book on your shelf. The screen will prompt you to enter the person's name and address. I hope this answers your question. Good luck! Last Edited on: 12/16/07 8:53 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I wondered about that, too, when I joined a swap. As mentioned above, you have to "Mail to Friend". However, the book I usually offer is NOT on my bookshelf, so I can't click that option. Therefore, I go to my bookshelf and pick any book (or some people add a John Grisham book to their shelf or one that has tons in the systems) and click the "Mail to Friend" option on that one. You then fill in the swap person's name and address. Doing it like that, you will have to remember to mark the book received when the "friend" gets it as they can't mark it. No credits are taken from any account doing it this way. Hope this helps. |

Mary, if you pick a book that is on your shelf, you will remove it, and thus remove it from the FIFO line. Better to use a fictitous listing, so that you don't hurt your own rankings ;) |

You are all so smart! Thank you so much. I did ship the book using a James Patterson listing that I had on my shelf - I figured that book wasn't going anywhere soon and I couldn't figure out how to get it to work with the real book as it was a wishlisted book. It never occurred to me to make a fictitious listing! Now I know. Thanks again! Have a safe and happy holiday season. |
