Gracie gets involved with the local high school choir puts on a musical production because if this production does not do very, very well the high school choir and musical plays will lose their school funding. The current musical her friend and talented musician looking for a college scholarship and a member of Gracie's church choir Eternal Hope Amy is involved. She won a contest to give her musical the high schools current play. If the high school production fails it will hurt Amy and their funding will totally be cut.
Criminals steal the instruments for the musical play and the musical compositions. Then a second crime is committed at the school. One could conclude it was the same criminals but it is not. I thought several times I had the criminals figured out but I was wrong. One set of criminals was not revealed until the end of the book. This is an excellent crime mystery.
