Good story line about an Army major, who came up through the ranks, and an Army captain who graduated from West Point. Major Ace Bannister grew up on the mean streets of a Texas town while Capt. Meredith St. James was raised by her Army general father. Good book that follows the military guidelines.

Major A. C. Bannister -- known as Ace -- grew up on the mean streets of a Texas town. The army was his one chance to get out, and he took it. He worked his way up through the ranks and now, as ROTC head at a Texas college, he's admired by all the young men -- and adored by all the young women. Truly a "major attraction..."
Captain Meredith Marshall St. James has a West Point education, a general for a father and an attitude that doesn't meet with the major's approval. Ace just doesn't hold with her belief in a "new" army, a "softer" army. He soon learns two things:
1. the beautiful Captain St. James isn't as soft as she looks, and
2. on the battlefield of love, unconditional surrender is sometimes the only option!
