I loved it. I'm always fascinated (or am I horrified?) by these survival stories. The days, weeks, years of terror that result in an almost insanely happily ever after just makes me want to stand and cheer anyone such as Bubbie. Lazega reverts from present state of pure familial bliss to a near impossible escape from the horrors of WWII. It's a satisfying way of telling the story without grinding the reader to the bone and demonstrates that it is possible for just about anybody to overcome horror while retaining a mirthful soul. Brava Bubbie and thank you, Mr. Lazega for sharing her with us.
