This isn't your typical superhero comic book, not the typical backstory or anything. The story of a Prosecutor who is tired of the system putting the meta-human villains back on the street to continue the reign of terror. She also is the black and white legal mindedness of other heroes or even the gray area of Batman, Manhunter walks a path that is all her own and is not above killing to keep the villain from hurting people again, she also is the most human character in the comic book world with domestic problems, a failed marriage, fights over custody, chain smoking and her extra-curricular vigilantism on top. She also isn't decked out in a thong and bustier to fight crime, wearing armor and a full body suit during her battles and also showing court room battles as well as personal drama in her life makes for an interesting read and a different comic experience
