I enjoyed this historical romance. The main character is a young woman from a pampered and wealthy background. The story is set in the Southeast, along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in both Georgia and Florida in the early 1800s. As the story opens, Margaret Porter is traveling by ship from her home in Savannah to Fort Brooke in the Florida territory to marry her husband-to-be. Margarets strength, determination, and resourcefulness help her to face and overcome the unexpected, but it is her faith that helps her grow into the person she was meant to be.
