Am I late on this realization?  Last time I mailed a book with DC, it still had to go through the post office scan to earn my credit.  Now it works on when the book mailed.  I'm really happy with this change.  I'm wondering if this is a temporary fix to get aroung the PO scanning issues or if this is permanent.   Very good change, for sure.

did you also use PBS postage?  Cause this is true when you get postage through PBS,  if its just DC then it still has to get scanned at the PO.   Its a nice new feature though :-) Excerpt from the Help Center:

 

  • Printed postage means you can mail your package as you like.  The USPS regulations that require packages over 13 ounces to be handed to a postal worker in a Post Office do not apply.
  • Printed postage means no fussing with stamps, no standing in line at the Post Office.
  • You will also get INSTANT CREDIT if you print your postage through PBS--you will get your credit when you mark the book mailed by clicking the "Book Has Been Mailed" button on the request.

    I believe it's only instant credit when you buy postage from PBS.

    Yeah, I have never purchased DC separate from postage.  These 2 books are the first ones that have been credited as soon as I marked them mailed.

    The Instant Credit is only given for books with Printable Postage.
