This is an autobiography about a girl who wanted to get married and was boy crazy early on. She wanted to get away from her mother, but as time goes on she learns so much more about her mother and marriage as well. I was not completely into this book. I read it quickly, yes, but I think it was more to get through it so I can get to my next book.
I adored reading the beginning of this book and all the rebellious things Lucy was drawn to doing (her sense of adventure, mainly). She started the book out talking about a switchblade! It was very unique and interesting. Throughout the whole thing, there was much described in detail as if you could picture being Lucy and feel her emotions and what life must have been like for her. However, as time went on, I grew weary of reading her entire dating history. It was crazy to me to think that someone could be with that many people in general, but then again I married the first person I dated when I was 16 (married at 20) and still am with him at 30, so I suppose my perspective just can't comprehend the idea of sharing my life with so many men. I truly felt sorry for her while reading the book at times, as if she found her identity in who she dated. I loved some of the stories about her parents and her relationship with them as well as the crazy stalker chapter about her daughter Liana's boyfriend she had.
I didn't know it was going to be such a graphic book with lots of profanities and sexual descriptions.
