This is a story about a couple (Devlin and Brynna) that meet, have a night of passion and Dev asks Brynna to marry him (all within 2 or 3 hours). Three days later, they fly (in his plane) to Las Vegas and marry.
The story jumps forward; now they have been married 8 months. Brynna tells her husband that she is pregnant and he seems underwhelmed.
Soon, she loses the baby through a miscarriage. In her grief, Brynna decides their marriage was a mistake. She asks him to leave their home and he does.
The next portion of the story is Brynnas psychological evaluation of the couples life together and the issues each brought to the marriage. This is the most interesting part of the book.
Its a little hard to believe that a physician (Brynna) with years of selfless care for her siblings would up and agree to marry someone after 2 or 3 hours. If you can get past that boulder-in-the-road, then the rest seems feasible.
Another problem I had with the book was the fact that this physician, who planned everything, doesnt evaluate their relationship until the miscarriage. The author does a good job of explaining this but I couldnt swallow it.
Its an interesting story but everyone is beautiful/handsome; and Devlin and his family are fabulously wealthy what a yawn!
