I like DC better than Marvel, but I like Marvel stuff too. Prefer supe comics (art) but like some indie stuff.

I recommend DC vs. Marvel to anyone. The amalgam stuff is cool!

I'm an all over the map kinda gal.... I was huge into Crossgen when they were around... they just had a new take on comics and the art was fantastic. Now that they are gone (except for the horde in my closet) I'm mostly a Marvel girl for the X-men which I've loved since I was a kid but my two all time favorite characters are both DC.... Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern and Jack Knight/Starman. And I love them both for the same reason... .they are people first and superheros second.

I also adore Elsewhere/alternate universe stories AKA DCs Generations or Marvel's Exiles.... One of the coolest out there IMO was Superman:Secret Identity by Kurt Busiek.

For the indy and other titles I'm lucky enough to live in a city where the public library has graphic novels for check out so I can try out other titles and writers for something new... which is how I found my newest enjoyment... Invincible by Robert Kirkman.

Oh yeah, Crossgen is hands-down the best comix ever. It's too bad they're gone. Disney is foolish not to keep at least 1 or 2 of the most popular titles going. I heard something about a Ruse movie once, but I'm not sure what's up with it.

The Nail (DC Elswhere) is one of the best GNs. So many lesser seen characters like Shade and Firestorm. There's also a sequel, Another Nail.

For a good indie title, George R.R. Martin's The Hedge Knight is really good.

I been collecting DC comics of the crisis series begining with identity crisis right through infinite crisis.  Currently Im collecting 52 the trades as well.  I love the stuff Dabel Brothers produces (Hedge Knight, Magician Apprentice, Ptolus....)

Crossgen - oh, I was so sad when they went under!  I heard there was a Year of the Rat movie in the works, but Ruse would have been great!

Now I look for Vertigo, though I also have been impressed by some of the things coming from Top Shelf.  In my youth (I'm 49) I was a Marvel fan.  Now DC is much better, I think.

As far as CG goes, Disney is doing Abadazad. The GNs are out (2 or 3 vols.)and supposedly they're going 2 do a movie or tv series or something.

Yeah I heard about the possiblity of a Year of the Rat movie as well as a couple of others... I'm lucky in that I'm in what was Crossgen's hometown and a number of the artists, writers and such come into the comic shop I frequent. I don't know the status of the YOTR movie but I do know Disney is going ahead with novels based on Abadazad.

I still tend to at least check out books done by some of their artists and writers.
