A splendid tale and highly recommended to those who love urban fantasy in what some would call an exotic alternate Earth setting. I love the characters and the exquisite world building.
I seriously recommend you read the short story "A Dead Djinn in Cairo" which is available for free on P. Djeli Clark's website and also for a small charge via Amazon and the like. Free is better so that's the way I read it.
Then I read Clark's novella set in the same world, "The Haunting of Tram 015", which was really good, too.
The short story and the novella have cross-over characters which is why it's very satisfying to read both before you begin this novel. Have fun!!
