I usually like books by Mary Balogh, and was disappointed in this one. The story was told from two different points of view and came off as extremely contrived. I won't give away the ending, but many hoops were jumped to get there, and it was not a comfortable ride.

This is more of a novelette so it's a very quick read. It's a really sweet story even if it's a bit predictable. If you're looking for a bunch of steamy scenes, this isn't for you. If you just want a short enjoyable read, this is perfect. I usually like longer books but I'd pretty much read anything by Mary Balogh. I've never been disappointed by her yet.

Well written as I would expect from Mary Balogh with an interesting twist to the development of the relationship between the two primary characters. Due to the length of the book (and I base this on word count rather than the actual number of pages) I think this should have been published as part of an anthology rather than a stand-alone work.

A very quick read, but entertaining. The story of star-crossed lovers and a very clever plot.

I love Mary Balogh's books. When this one arrived I was surprised at the size of the book (small) and double spaced. She didn't let me down. It is a lovely story a great ending. As always, she makes me believe in love and happy endings.
