The premise of this book is that events of the past cause a huge rift between the main characters in the present. The unnamed conflict is huge and insurmountable. As the book progresses we discovered the entire history that caused the problems. At the end - miraculously - all the past is overcome and everything is just fine. I felt a bit let down overall. The book had lots of good bits, and was worth a read, but is definitely not a keeper.
