Austin's popular morning-drive radio personality Roger "wonderful" Weber was the biggest jerk his coanchor Cassie Ferris had ever met, but the fans seemed to like their verbal sparring and Cassie needed a paycheck. But off the air, arrogant, demeaning Roger was as popular as poison--which, ironically, is how he died after eating a contaminated canape at the opening of the city's hot new video dating club.
Now, Cassie finds herself at the top of the police suspect list. After all Roger's calculated barbs hit everybody's shortest spots, and she's got a couple of very regrettable moments in her past. Worse, her teenage daughter is being questioned, as well, for reasons that have Cassie working overtime to solve the crime before a clever killer manages to take her off the air--permanently.
