MAVERICK'S VIRGIN MISTRESS is the fifth book in the TEXAS CATTLEMAN'S CLUB series. From the first page Jennifer Lewis immerses the reader in the Mexican heritage and the unique dynamics between the members of the Cattleman's Club. I was amused by Alicia's innocence and determination to `become a woman' despite her brother's controlling attitude. Even Justin's deception was understandable though he really should have told Alicia his true identity sooner than he did. In addition to the romantic conflicts taking place between Alicia and Justin there's the protective attitude of her brother and the whole arson issue that keeps this story hopping and the reader guessing at what will happen next. Jennifer Lewis pens stories that touch the heart and capture the reader's imagination while allowing you to feel like the characters are personal friends.
