Well, entertaining writing, however, I couldn't get into it really, not sure if it's a biography or a novel the way it's written. Maybe because it's a translation. If you like Umberto Eco, you may like this.

Fictional account of two scientific geniuses of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Alexander von Humboldt and Carl Gauss. Both of whom were very strange people yet if you have an interest in the history of science this is the book for you.
