1 lb - Ground Beef ( check notes for alternatives)
1/2 lb - Ground Sausage
1 - Egg
1 Sleeve - Saltine Crackers (crushed)
1 1/2 Cup - BBQ Sauce
- Diced Onions To Taste ( check notes for alternatives)
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl knead together beef and sausage.
Add saltines, egg, onions and 1/2 cup BBQ sauce.
Knead all together by hand till well mixed.
Make into loaf and place in pan.( We use a "double" meatloaf pan that has holes in bottom of the inner pan for grease to drain.
Place in oven in the middle of the middle rack.
Bake at 425 degrees for 45 to 55 mins. or til meat looks cooked through.
Pour remaining BBQ sauce over top and bake for additional 5 mins.
We use Ground Chuck as it is a leaner meat.
I use dehydrated onions due to alergies; another option is to use 1 envelope of Lipton Onion Cup Of Soup Mix.
