This is one of the best books I've ever read! Haruhi is an abnormal teenage girl who holds the fate of the universe in her hands, but doesn't know it. As a fan of Japanese pop culture (anime, manga, visual kei bands, the whole nine yards) this book was wonderful! I would recommend it to anyone!

This book is just as enchanting as the anime. Follow Kyon as he tells the tale of a mysterious girl named Haruhi Suzumiya and her relationship with the universe. Its silly, fun, and if you haven't seen the anime its unpredictable. If you have seen the anime this volume is almost word for word season 1. Even much of the dialogue is the same. So no surprises. I suggest reading the book before the anime. The anime will make a little more sense.
