First I have to say I AM a fan of Bodie and Brock Thoene. Not only do they write well, but they research their subjects thoroughly. I find their writings a marvelous way to gain historical knowledge which leads to a perspective on people and cultures that I didn't have in advance of reading their books.

The Galway Chronicles of which this book is 2nd in the series, is an excellent example. I knew little about Irish history and cultural life. Very eye-opening for me.

Another terrific read by the Thoene's. Irealand's struggle for freedom and being oppressed by England set in the 1800's. You'll be on the edge of your seat most of the time reading this one. dg

The Thoene's do a great job of bringing history to life through their fictional accounts. Through this series of books I am coming to understand a little more about the Catholic/Protestant conflict. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these books.

I liked it all right, but not as much as "Only The River Runs Free," the first in the series.
