I cannot listen to Mark Levine on the radio because he sounds so rabid, so it was with trepidation that I opened this book. I quickly forgot my aversion to Mr. Levine as he presented a lucid, compelling portrait of the then sitting justices (a recent as this book is, there have been changes to the court.) The author displays an impressive understanding of past court decisions an how those decisions have impacted the country. Mr Levine is indeed a constitutional scholar. I recommend this book highly.

The court is still too liberal for this guy. Thinks that 18th century thinking is just great. At least he doesn't quote Blackstone.

This is good book that reviews the courts history and the purpose of the courts. In this world of emotions and feelings it is refreshing to understand the purpose of the courts to know the constitution and to apply the constitution to decision that are made in the courts.
