A common definition of someone who is stupid is that they do not learn. If true, then this certainly applies to Brandy O'Bannon, the female protagonist in this series.

I've only read books two and four in the series, but I knew, when, in book four, she read the mysterious note offering to help her, that it was a set-up. Obviously, she had to go to some remote location, just as she did in book two. Comments from her husband reveal that she experienced the same type of setup in books one and three. I was right, and it was only by a weird coincidence that her life was saved, as happened in book two.

Hey, lady! Wise up for God's sakes.

Still, I enjoyed the book, and, once again, didn't know who the killer was until she explained it all. Plus, the action takes place in north central Florida, where I live. I've been to the places she describes.
