I volunteer at an FOL store. Last month the store was given many mysteries written by Michael Innes. I didn't know he was such a prolific writer! They aren't the newest editions - probably came from someone's collection of long standing - but they have the same ISBN's as newer editions. I bought all I thought met the PBS standards. Please check my bookshelf to see if there are any you might want. Thanks. M'ann |

I am absolutely an Innes fan and I will put in a plug for your shelf, Margaretann! If you are a lover of "vintage" mysteries, especially the Scotland Yard variety set in the 1930s, 40s, 50s and 60s, you need to try Innes. His writing really reminds me of Ngaio Marsh or Margery Allingham. And the great thing is, since he was such a prolific writer, if you decide you like them then you've got a whole new series of books to put on your list. You don't even have to WL them because here they are waiting for you on Margaretann's shelf!! :-> (How was that, Margaretann? Now to place my own order!!) ETA: I just looked at Margaretann's shelf, and it has a TON of other older mysteries by interesting writers, too. I'll definitely be back! ;-> Last Edited on: 9/3/07 8:43 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
