This is the story of the Eight Air Force (American Air Corps). These men flew bomber and fighter missions in the ETO (European Theater of Operations). The Eight Air Force had a giant mortality rate of nearly 25% of their flight crews. This book goes into detail about how and why thr Eight was formed, and then spends the great majority of the book describing the missions the heros of the Eight flew. All of the stories in the book are accompanied by personal accounts of veterans. The book was truely inspiring to read. We all need to understand the horrors these men faced, as we all owe them a great deal for what they sacrificed.
