This is a very short Hercule Poirot puzzler. Most of the short stories by Agatha Christie have been combined into a book of novel-length but I found this one separate. Unfortunately, with only 11 to 14 pages (depending on the font size), there aren't enough red herrings to trick the reader.
On a transatlantic trip via ship, Philip Ridgeway, a young banker is robbed of one million dollars in Liberty Bonds. Hercule Poirot is called into the case by Ridgeway's fiance, who is frantic to clear his name. Of course, Poirot has no problem figuring things out, but Capt. Hastings (his sidekick) is left in the dark until the end.
