Karra Long set down her pen as she looked up at her clock. 5:59!
She ran down-stairs just as her mom walked into the kitchen. "Karra Maria Long, were you day-dreaming again," her mom yelled. Karra looked down at her feet, If you could just... No, I could not "just buy you an animal," screamed her mom, you know how much I hate animals and how much they cost to feed them. Karra frowned, she had wanted any animal all of her life. As she got to working on dinner and her chores, she thought about how great it would be to get an animal. Most of the hours that she didn't spend in school, she spent studing or on the computer looking for the most adorable animal faces she could find to show her mom so her mom would have a change in heart and decide that she really loved animals, not hate them.

Doesn't this sound just like a typical parent/child argument! I can see this is gonna be a fun story to follow.
