this is the play, not the biography of Helen Keller. I have seen this performed on screen and on stage and it is always an inspiring story.

This is the famous story about the woman who managed to bring Helen Keller out of the darkness and silence of being born deaf and blind. It was made into a very good movie, also. This is a quite early Bantam edition, out originally at 60 cents.

An excellent read, powerful and moving. Gibson slightly adapted this play for the 1962 movie starring Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke. Tightly written, with everything necessary to tell the story at multiple levels, but no "fluff" or filler. Highly recommended as an introduction for anyone who doesn't know about Helen Keller, or as an inspiring look back for those who already know her basic story. Any collector of material about her must have this play.
