The first 6 chapters really didn't draw me in but once I was farther in it began to redeem itself. The thing is though my favorite character was Colonel Stackhouse (from the last book and the next one-Lady Helen). I eventually could care about Meg & Rodrigo but it was slow going. I'm also frustrated with the trend authors seem to be taking of introducing tons of characters (I actually had to make a list when I started this book because of the previous two and the next one just released) just so they can have those sub characters become the main one in a coming book. It drags stories out when they could be wonderful on their own. All in all much more romance, laughter, and smiles than the previous book (Lady Emma's Campaign) so there is that but the first book in this group of characters (Becoming Lady Lockwood) still far outshines Miss Burton and Lady Emma. They don't seem to be presented as a series but I recommend reading them in order if you want to understand the people in the stories.
