I believe I'm getting tired of the alpha male role who has no view point but black and white. Found the premise far fetched that the heroine could fall in love with this hero, when the man she loved and was pregnant by died, was of a giving and warm nature. Found myself enjoying the hero's friend and the heroine's sister more.

Mostly notable, the Marquess of Gresham, who helps Phineas to realize he might not be as indifferent to his wife as he had thought...
