Very good book. Verity Thornrose is the last of her line, a wealthy family known for its philanthropic and reform-mined crusades. Her latest charitable endeavor lands her in the clutches of Alaric Tierney, the infamous Earl of Brathmere, who mistakes her for a cyprian. Verity flees, but he intrigued by the beauriful highflier dressed as a Quaker who has the face of an angel, the gall of an adventuress, and the conversation of an Oxford don--is determined to track her down.

When next they encounter each other at a ball, Verity discovers to her horror that she has put her reputation in the hands of the rakehell. Her stern cousin Octavian, whose suit she has rejected, contrives to place her in Dr. Daggett's Reformatory for Wayward Females Who Have Fallen for the First Time. And when Alaric arrives to spirit her away, Octavian appears, sword in hand...
