This is quite the mystery. Where are the rest of our clubs members? My wife and I were expecting anywhere from three to fifty people to attend our Paperback Swap Club get-together at Crossroads Coffeehouse. No one has shown up. I sit there enjoying my cafe mocha observing the other patrons. In a coffeehouse, as expected, I take note of several people who fit the "book club" persona. There is even one person whom I saw reading a medical textbook, taking down notes on his laptop. Perhaps he is somehow involved in the disappearance of our group members. What sort of plot has he devised? What is his purpose?

My cafe mocha almost finished, my wife suggests that we leave soon as she has an appointment at 1:00 to get her nails done and we've been here nearly an hour without anyone showing up for our get together.

We finish up our coffee, put our jackets on and start for the door. As I pass by the table with the "medical student", I discover his purpose, his real identity. Sticking out, ever so slightly from the top of his bag for his laptop, his identification. His name is Willy and he works at Starbucks! Obviously he arrived at Crossroads before our groups planned meeting and diverted all our members to the Starbucks down the street. This has to be the reason for our poor turnout. My wife and I arrived ten minutes late for our group meeting. Lesson learned; be on time for Paperback Swap get togethers!
