To Sis from Samantha:
Remember the handsome missionary I met during the modeling shoot? Well he's the new assistant here in Chestnut Grove! Eric wants a houseful of kids, only I'm afraid my secret (relevant to today's time) will keep us apart.

A quick reading book. Hard to put down.

Fashion model Samantha Harcourt is in Africa for a photo shoot when she decides she wants to see the real Africa. Her journey leads her to a mission team working in the heat and muck on an orphanage. No one realizes who she is and so Sam is able to slip in and be a real person for one day... and as a result her life is changed. Back home in Cedar Grove, Sam is reevaluating her life when she crosses paths once again with the handsome missionary she met in Africa, Eric Pellegrino. Eric is the new assistant director of Tiny Blessings Adoption Agency and is in the process of creating an international adoption program there. Can these 2 blend their mutual lives and find common ground for serving the Lord?

This is, of course, book 2 in the 2007 Tiny Blessings series. In addition to what you can find from the blurbs, this book gives a realistic look at issues of anorexia. Goodnight can write heartrending Romance, but she can also make me smile when I read of the interactions between Eric and Samantha.

I want to add that the title for this book is completely misleading. There is no "cute kid" stuff happening--no single parents, etc. In ch 1 we see Eric as an Orphanage Director in South Africa. For the remainder of the book he is in the states and the story loosely revolves around Eric and Samantha's work in teen ministry. The only tie-in to the title is his struggle with international adoptions to bring 2 kids over, but we don't see the kids at all after ch 1.

Enjoy!
