This book has a lot of flashback like parts because it is not Fletcher Christian of HMS Bounty who is telling the story but his doctor who is relating the tale from his writings as Fletcher has lost his mind.
Great insight into the time period of the American Revoluton, the British Navy, the war between France and England and the way the King's subjects were treated. Gangs of pressman would kidnap any able bodied man and induct him into the King's navy to serve and die regardless of any pay to either him or his family.
The parts concerning the love of Fletcher for her was the second most interesting part for me, but then women will probably like that part more than the Navy and the war.
