Reading Ahab's Wife inspired me to go back to the original Ahab novel, Moby Dick. But I knew I'd never stick with the print version. Came across the CD at the lib, and turns out, this is a pretty good book. On CD, you can skip the chapters that deal with the whale's head and how to stick a harpoon in its blowhole, and still enjoy the adventure part of the story.

I slogged through Moby Dick in high school and swore never again - but like you, I am thinking of reading it again now that I read "Ahab's Wife"
