Fabulous book! Well written and historical true to character. Written about a young boy raised by Indians in the American Northwest who then tries to reintroduce himself into "White" culture when his family writes him for help in settling in Oregon. Captivating for both boys and girls, middle school reading level.

Great Oregon Trail story. The main thing is family and staying together.

My son and I read this book when he was in the 6th grade. We both loved it!

This award winning book is full of accurate history and is "good for you." But a child will only see that is is truly gripping. I loved it as a child, as did my children, and now the grandchildren.
